International Food Evening

The International Food Evening is one of our signature events bi-annual event. Each semester, international students get the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills and give local students, staff and residents a taste of their home countries. Also featuring live music, the event is great fun. Do join us and taste the world!  ​

The next  International Food Evening (IFE) will take place on the 25th of September 2025.

So you probably wondering how this works?

  • SU students register their teams and choose a nationality or culture to represent
  • They will then purchase groceries up to the worth of R2500 to cook their chosen dishes.
  • Students will have until 2 weeks after the event to submit their receipts to receive their reimbursements from SUI.
  • On the event evening, the different groups will sell small portions of their dishes to attendees.​
