Dr Andrea Palk Senior dosent

Dr Andrea Palk het haar studies in filosofie in 2018 aan die Universiteit Stellenbosch afgehandel, nadat sy ook vir ʼn aantal jare as ʼn deeltydse dosent en navorsingsassistent in die Departement gewerk het. Tydens haar studies het sy verskeie toekennings en beurse ontvang, waaronder die Rektorsmedalje vir die beste MA-tesis in die Fakulteit in 2014. Haar doktorale studies is befonds deur ʼn innovasiebeurs van drie jaar van die Nasionale Navorsingstigting, waarna sy ʼn Consolidoc- postdoktorale beurs van ses maande van die Universiteit Stellenbosch ontvang het. In Julie 2018 is sy as ʼn postdoktorale genoot in die Sielkundedepartement van die Universiteit van Kaapstad aangestel, waar sy aan verskeie temas met betrekking tot die filosofie en etiek van psigiatrie gewerk het. Sy is sedert 2018 ook ʼn lid van die Africa Ethics Working Group (Afrika-etiekwerksgroep; AEWG) wat deel is van die globale inisiatief in neuro-psigiatriese etiek van die Universiteit van Oxford (www.neurogene.org). Dr Palk is in Mei 2020 as ʼn voltydse dosent in die Departement Filosofie van die Universiteit Stellenbosch aangestel. Haar navorsingsgebiede sluit verskillende temas binne die gebied van bio-etiek, morele filosofie en die filosofie van psigiatrie in.
