Ms Tamlyn February Lecturer
Tamlyn February is a New Generation Academics Programme (nGAP) Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy since April 2025. She completed her undergraduate studies, Honours, and Master’s studies at Stellenbosch University. In 2024, she served as the Chairperson of the Socratic Society and Editor-in-Chief of the Stellenbosch Socratic Journal, while doing temporary lecturing of first- and second-year modules.
Her PhD in progress takes up the movement to decolonise the academy as a refusal of the academy and explores alternative education models that advance people-centred collective liberation.
Her research interests include social and political philosophy, decolonial philosophy, decolonial philosophy of education, public philosophy, Black feminism, and the history of African liberation figures and movements.
