Strengthening Pan-African partnerships – SU’s Rector and Vice-Chancellor led a first-ever strategic tour through Zimbabwe, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda to deepen collaboration with universities, stakeholders, and alumni. Showcasing impact and networks – The tour highlighted SU’s role in initiatives like PANGeA, Africa–Japan INSPIRE, and long-standing collaborations with universities such as Makerere, Strathmore, JKUAT, and UniRwanda. Alumni and donor engagement – Alumni chapters, thriving graduates, and support from partners like the Gerda Henkel Foundation reinforced the value of SU’s networks and partnerships for Africa’s development.

Strengthening South-South Collaboration: Visiting Bogotá, Colombia

Strengthening South–South partnerships – SU International expanded its regional engagement in Latin America through participation in the GLOSOUTH: Colombia–South Africa Initiative. Deepening collaboration with Uniandes – The visit to Universidad de los Andes reinforced existing agreements and explored new opportunities in research, student exchange, and joint capacity building. Expanding SU’s footprint in Colombia – Exploratory meetings with Javeriana and Rosario universities broadened potential partnerships for future academic and research collaboration.

Equity and inclusion are central to SU’s internationalisation efforts. SU is strengthening support for international student success and belonging. SU is expanding and diversifying mobility opportunities, including “internationalisation at home.”
