Biography

Dr. Azille Coetzee is 'n postdoktorale navorser aan die Departement Sielkunde, aangebied deur Professor Lou-Marié Kruger, en 'n navorsingsgenoot aan die Departement Filosofie van die Universiteit Stellenbosch. In haar werk ondersoek sy vroue se affek, die verhouding tussen geslag en ras in koloniale logika, en die rol van geslagsbevryding in die projek van dekolonisasie. Haar navorsing is gepubliseer in verskeie internasionale feministiese tydskrifte, soos Hypatia, Feminist Review, en die European Journal of Women's Studies. Sy is die skrywer van 'n kreatiewe nie-fiksiewerk In My Vel: 'n Reis (2019, Tafelberg Uitgewers) waarin sy wit Afrikaneridentiteit en nasionale behoort ondersoek; en 'n roman Die Teenoorgestelde is Net So Waar (2021, Human & Rousseau), oor vroulike vriendskap, queer liefde, en alternatiewe vorme van verwantskap. Sy skryf soms vir plaaslike populêre publikasies soos Vrye Weekblad, Litnet en Klyntji; en sy is medestigter en -redakteur van Turksvy, 'n platform vir die verkenning van geslag in Afrikaans.
