Fees: Freemover/ Non Partner institutions
"Freemovers" to register in 2026 are expected to pay a non-refundable University Academic Fee of R98,830 per semester before registration at Stellenbosch University. Please see the table below for a layout of the fee components.
Service fees may be utilised for services such as internet services, photocopying, printing, laundry quota, societies, and membership fees. Only two services are compulsory to be deducted from the student's service fee, which are the student card (± R90), and the Network Availability Fee (± R600). If the student overspends on the available service fee amount, they must pay the difference before leaving the university by the end of the semester.

TERMS OF PAYMENT
- All the above-mentioned fees are non-refundable
- SA students who register as a Study Abroad Student (Freemover) do not pay IRF
- SA students who register as an Exchange student do pay IRF
- Affiliated & Preparatory students pay IRF per academic year registration (Jan 2026-March 2027)
- IEP students pay IRF once per registration for 5 English blocks
