What Are Summer and Winter Schools?

These are short-term academic programmes, typically lasting between 1 and 6 weeks — offered by universities during either the northern or southern hemisphere’s summer or winter breaks.

They provide a unique chance to:

  • Explore academic topics in a global context
  • Engage with international peers
  • Experience transformative learning beyond South Africa
