Why study space rocks?

Space rocks can either kill us or give us access to another habitable world in outer space. During this Science Café Stellenbosch, geologists from Stellenbosch University's Department of Earth Sciences, Dr Matthew Mayne and MSc student Llelani Coetzer, talk to mechanical engineer Prof Nawaz Mahomed from SU's Faculty of Engineering. Why and how do they study asteroids and other non-celestial objects such as satellites and space debris?
