The Makerspace is a place in which students and staff of Stellenbosch University with shared interests, especially in computing or technology, can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge.

The goal of the Makerspace is to enable students to create new digital artifacts and materials, adapt new digital tools, processes, and methods and participate in innovative projects, communities, and discussions.
Who may use this
The facility is reserved for registered students and staff of the University by means of controlled access. You will need a valid Stellenbosch University student/staff card to gain access to the Makerspace.
Schedule one-on-one sessions for more information on equipment, tools or design support.

Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 16:30.
Saturday: Closed

Vir inligting oor 3D-drukwerk en 3D-skanderingsdienste, toerusting en gereedskap:
Daar is vier ontwerpwerkstasies wat 'n area verskaf vir 3D-modelering en stroombaanontwerp, 'n Ontwerpwerkstasie is toegerus met 'n rekenaar met rekenaarondersteunde ontwerpsagteware.
By die vier konstruksiewerkstasies kan met osiloskope gewerk en gesoldeer word. Hierdie area verskaf ook genoeg ruimte vir praktiese werk soos opstelling, stroombaaninspeksie en montering. 'n Konstruksiewerkstasie is toegerus met 'n rekenaar met rekenaarondersteunde ontwerpsagteware.
Policies and Rules
Users of the Makerspace must read and abide by the Makerspace Policies and Rules. When doing a booking it is also required from users of the Makerspace to agree to the terms and conditions of using workstations, equipment and software selected on the booking form. Through this action you are certifying that you are capable of using it in a manner that is safe.
