Makerspace
The Makerspace is a place in which students and staff of Stellenbosch University with shared interests, especially in computing or technology, can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge.
Get hands on experience with cutting edge technology and high in-demand skills!
The goal of the Makerspace is to enable students to create new digital artifacts and materials, adapt new digital tools, processes, and methods and participate in innovative projects, communities, and discussions.
Who may use this
The facility is reserved for registered students and staff of the University by means of controlled access. You will need a valid Stellenbosch University student/staff card to gain access to the Makerspace.

There are four design workstations that provide an area for 3D modelling and circuit design. A design workstation is equipped with a computer that has computer aided design software.
There are four construction workstations that provide an area for working with the oscilloscopes and do soldering, etc. This space will also provide adequate room for hands-on work such as drafting, circuit inspection or assembly. A construction workstation is equipped with a computer that has computer aided design software.
Policies and Rules
Users of the Makerspace must read and abide by the Makerspace Policies and Rules. When doing a booking it is also required from users of the Makerspace to agree to the terms and conditions of using workstations, equipment and software selected on the booking form. Through this action you are certifying that you are capable of using it in a manner that is safe.
