This programme aims to equip the Critical Care Nurse Specialist with the theoretical knowledge and clinical skills to be a competent critical care nurse. This programme will enable the graduate to function as a leader who is clinically focused, service-orientated; autonomous, innovative Nurse Specialist who is able to render comprehensive, scientific nursing care, as determined by the appropriate legislative framework.

The programme will be offered as a 120-credit, full-time one-year specialisation programme. The successful completion of this programme enables a graduate to be eligible for registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Critical Care (Adult) Nurse Specialist as stipulated in the South African Nursing Council's Regulation No. 635.

This programme aims to develop an Emergency Nurse through the development of advanced scientific knowledge and intellectual capacity. Through the use of a hybrid learning approach and collaborative approaches with various stakeholders this qualification will enable the graduate to function as a leader who is critically focused, service orientated, autonomous, and innovative. Graduates will be able to perform as independent, interdependent and dependent clinical practitioners through the provision of person-centered care in various emergency settings.

The programme will be offered as a 120-credit, full-time one-year specialisation programme. The successful completion of this programme enables a graduate to be eligible for registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Emergency Nurse Specialist as stipulated in the South African Nursing Council's Regulation No. 635.

This programme aims to develop a Nurse Manager who will provide a high level of theoretical engagement, sound clinical judgement and intellectual independence, as well as the ability to relate knowledge to a range of contexts in order to effectively manage a healthcare establishment. This programme is designed to provide a student with varied exposure to, and opportunities to manage diverse healthcare organisations.

This programme aims to develop a Mental Health Nurse Specialist, who will provide a high level of theoretical engagement, sound clinical judgement and intellectual independence, as well as the ability to relate knowledge to a range of contexts in order to render professional and competent mental health care. This programme is designed to provide a student with varied exposure to, and opportunities to participate in caring for diverse societies, communities and individuals.          

The programme will be offered as a 120-credit, full-time one-year specialisation programme. The successful completion of this programme enables a graduate to be eligible for registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Mental Health Nurse Specialist as stipulated in the South African Nursing Council's Regulation No. 635.

This programme aims to develop a Midwife Specialist who will provide a high level of theoretical engagement, sound clinical judgement and intellectual independence, as well as the ability to relate knowledge to a range of contexts in order to render professional and competent midwifery and neonatal care. This programme is designed to provide a student with varied exposure to, and opportunities to participate in caring for diverse societies, communities, and individuals.

The programme will be offered as a 120-credit, full-time one-year specialisation programme. The successful completion of this programme enables a graduate to be eligible for registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Midwife Specialist as stipulated in the South African Nursing Council's Regulation No. 635.

The programme will expose you to the specialist area of Nursing Education and equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to be an effective nursing educator in your chosen specialist area. It will train you, as a professional registered nurse, to teach other nurses. As a nurse educator, you will require specific skills and competencies (teaching activities), which you will obtain by learning through experience.

The programme aims to equip you, as a professional nurse, to provide safe Peri-operative Nursing that complies with all the legal and ethical requirements that apply in South Africa. It will teach you how to combine clinical and non-clinical aspects in planning and implementing personalised perioperative patient care, working alongside other disciplines.
