SUNCEP Smart Class
The SUNCEP Smart Classroom is a custom-built, fully customizable online Learning Management System (LMS) designed to facilitate effective online and remote learning.
Online education has now become part of South Africa’s longer-term “new normal” and is evolving into a critical
component of future teaching and learning strategies. When implemented effectively, online education is not
merely a virtual substitute for face-to-face instruction. Rather, it is guided by its own pedagogical principles,
enabling intentionally designed learning experiences that support the achievement of specific learning
outcomes within a technology-mediated environment.
Fully customisable
The platform enables remote learning through features such as user profiles, hosting of learning materials,
online tasks, live class sessions (integrated with Zoom), blog and article sharing, and more.
InMail
The smart class has its own dedicated email platform for direct communication with users.
Live and pre-recorded lessons
The platform allows tracking for both Live and pre-recorded lessons. Users are able to access content via the subject specific pages.
Activity tracking
Users and facilitators are able to track their progress, view upcoming lessons and to schedule activities in the built in calendar.
Learner profile
Access to the platform is managed through a two-step authentication process. Users are able to manage their profile through a dedicated page which allows them to track their progress, tasks and to update personal information.
