Welcome Maties!

Your Matie journey starts here

A new chapter filled with discovery, connection and opportunity. Get ready to explore campus life and make Stellenbosch your home.

The 2026 institutional Welcoming Programme starts on Monday 26 January for all commuter students (including Law students in commuter and residence communities). Residence students arrive on Tuesday 27 January.

The programme is designed to help you settle into university life, meet your classmates and lecturers, and understand what to expect in your first year. Each faculty will also host its own welcoming programme.
