Welcoming Programmes
Get to know your faculty, lecturers and classmates. These sessions introduce you to your academic home and what to expect in your studies.
The institutional Welcoming Programme for 2026 commences on Monday 26 January with the arrival of all commuter students (including Law students based in commuter and residence student communities). Residence students will arrive on Tuesday 27 January.
The Welcoming Programme is designed to help you make a smooth transition into university life.
Each faculty at Stellenbosch University will also host a faculty-specific welcoming programme.
By participating in the various activities arranged, you will be able to get to know your classmates, lecturers and faculty. You will also gain a better understanding of what to expect during your first year at the University. There will be many opportunities to ask questions and access support services to help you settle in well.
