Who we are

The IT Division is dedicated to supporting the diverse needs of Stellenbosch University (SU) by providing essential technology services and solutions that enable teaching, learning, research and administration. 

We work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our services align with the University's strategic goals and adapt to the evolving technology landscape, contributing to SU's growth and success.   

Our services

We offer a wide range of IT services to support the SU community. Our comprehensive IT Service Catalogue is currently in development and will provide a full breakdown of everything we offer. Here is an overview of our IT services, grouped into key areas:

  • Protect yourself and SU: Anti-virus software, Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Accounts and Access: Usernames and passwords, SUNid (external engagements) management, Eduroam (Wi-Fi for students and staff), VPN access
  • Device Services: Hardware and software assistance, Printers and peripherals, SafeCom printing, Office automation setup
  • Communication and Collaboration: Email setup and support, Phone services, Web hosting, Team sites and surveys, Conference network support
  • Storage and Backup: Cloud and network storage options, Backup services for important files
  • IT Training: To find out about and register for courses, sign on at the staff portal. Select My Sun-e-HR, SUN Employee Self Service Training and Development, Learner Home and Information Technology. A list of available course will be displayed.

IT Hub
Visit our IT Hub Walk-in Centre if you need in-person IT support. We have temporarily relocated to the Inorganic Chemistry Building in Bosman Street, Stellenbosch Central, due to renovations at the Admin A Building.
