Online registration

• 12 January 2026: Online registration opens for senior undergraduate (excluding transferring students) and postgraduate students.
• 22 January 2026: Online registration opens for newcomer first-year students.

On-Campus assisted registration

• 26–30 January 2026: Assisted registration for senior students, including transferring students, as per the registration schedule.
• 2–3 February 2026: Assisted registration for newcomer first-year students (excluding transferring students), as per the registration schedule.
• 3–5 February 2026: Extended assisted registration for senior students (including transferring students), as per the registration schedule.

Registration amendments

• 6 February 2026 (08:00–12:00): Module amendments for the faculties of:
  - Arts and Social Sciences
  - Economic and Management Sciences
  - Engineering
• 9–20 February 2026: Module amendments for all faculties

Important deadlines/dates

• 5 February 2026: Conclusion of registration for all students (excluding M and D students).
• 9 February 2026: Start of the academic year
• 20 February 2026: Final day for module and programme amendments
• 20 February 2026: Final day for late registration for undergraduate and postgraduate students (including continuing M and D students but excluding newcomer M and D students). Please note: Some structured Master’s programmes may have earlier registration dates. Students must confirm with their programme coordinators.
• 26 March 2026: Final registration day for newcomer M and D students. Please note: Some structured Master’s programmes may have earlier registration dates. Students must confirm with their programme coordinators.

Please note the following:

• The University cannot guarantee a position for students who do not register on time as per the registration schedule below.
• Please consult the relevant faculty’s yearbook to ensure that you register correctly according to the approved programme requirements.
• Important information about your responsibility as a student will be sent to you with your proof of registration to ensure that your registration is correct. Please acquaint yourself with this information.
• Students are encouraged to make use of online registration. Students with online registration problems will be assisted in the Coetzenburg Centre during the assigned timeslot.
• Transferring students cannot register online. Please attend the assisted registration in the Coetzenburg Centre, as per the registration schedule below.
• Important notice regarding registration and residences occupancy: Students intending to utilise either the online (self-registration) or early assisted registration period (26–30 January 2026) are hereby informed that SU residences will not be accessible for early occupancy. Should you opt for early assisted registration, we kindly advise making alternative accommodation arrangements. Please refer to the applicable residence’s occupation schedule.
