Students who have not secured accommodation in residence, must arrange private accommodation. Information on accredited private accommodation is available here.   

Students are responsible for securing accommodation at their own cost before arriving on campus. 

Bursary holders must ensure they have proof of funding. Without proof of funding, the University cannot assist with securing accredited private accommodation. 

Students must upload their correct and signed lease agreement to enable the payment of accommodation allowances. 

Accommodation waiting list  

Eligible students may register on the waiting lists. Please note:   

• The waiting lists for all registered students will open on Monday, 12 January 2026. 
• Please keep in mind that places are limited, and the placement criteria will be applicable. 
• Preference will be given to NSFAS first-years in accordance with the Residence Placement Policy.
• Returning students who are not eligible will not be considered. Please refer to private accommodation.
