Rector's Award
THEME: Empowering minds, empowering communities – dreamers, doers, difference makers
Fostering individual potential and leveraging that growth for the benefit of the broader community – this is the focus that underscores the significance of education and personal development as catalysts for collective advancement. By equipping individuals with the tools to succeed, we aim to drive comprehensive community progress.
Stellenbosch University (SU) continuously pursues excellence, and the development of graduate attributes forms an integral part of our teaching and learning environment. In support of this, the University aspires to create the kinds of conditions that will enable each student to acquire the attributes of an enquiring mind, an engaged citizen, a dynamic professional, and a well-rounded individual.
Considering this, in 2008, the Rectorate in collaboration with the Student Representative Council, launched the awards to recognize and celebrate students who have performed exceptionally well in academics, sports, service provision (now service to students'), leadership, culture and social impact. Prior to 2008, the award was known as the Rector’s Honorary Colours, which were awarded for many decades.
NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN
You are encouraged to make use of this opportunity to recognise or celebrate your achievements or that of a fellow SU student.
