The 2026 Library Symposium will take place at the Wallenberg Conference Centre, located within the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS) in Stellenbosch Central, South Africa.

STIAS, established in 1999, is housed in Mostertsdrift - one of Stellenbosch’s earliest farms, dating back to 1691. Today, it stands as a premier independent research institute, offering a “creative space for the mind.” Its mission is to foster innovative, cross-disciplinary research that addresses global challenges, with a particular emphasis on Africa. Through fellowships and international collaborations, STIAS provides a "uniquely supportive space for thinking, reading, debating, and writing".

The Wallenberg Conference Centre, opened in 2007, offers state-of-the-art facilities designed to bring people together in a variety of ways. With modern venues, advanced equipment, and welcoming communal spaces, it creates the ideal setting for meaningful learning, interaction and exchange.

We look forward to welcoming delegates to this world-class conferencing facility.
