Join us at the Toyota Woordfees for a new series of captivating science café talks, moderated by well-known science journalist and author, Engela Duvenage

Science Café Stellenbosch is an initiative of the Faculty of Science at Stellenbosch University. Entrance is free.

Topic

Given the complexity and variability of breast cancer, traditional one-size-fits-all treatment approaches are often insufficient. In this talk, Engela Duvenage will explore the concept of “personalised medicine” as a promising approach that can significantly improve patient prognosis and care by tailoring prevention and treatment strategies based on individual genetic, pathology, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Having survived three different cancers, a survivor will share her lived experience of this approach.
