B in Spraak-Taal-en Gehoorterapie
Hierdie program lei spraak-taalterapeute op met die toepaslike kennis en vaardighede om persone met kommunikasieafwykings te kan hanteer. Jy word toegerus om die volgende professionele funksies te vervul:
die voorkoming, identifisering, evaluering, diagnosering en behandeling van kommunikasieafwykings;
kliënt- en gesinsgesentreerde berading;
die begeleiding, onderrig en opleiding van ander kundiges of relevante lekepersone;
konsultasie en navorsing op die gebied van kommunikasieafwykings; en
die bestuur van programme voorsien deur spraak-taalterapeute aan kliënte met kommunikasieafwykings in gesondheids-, opvoedkundige en privaat kontekste.
Ten einde die bogenoemde funksies optimaal in die veeltalige Suid-Afrikaanse konteks te kan verrig, word van studente verwag om vaardigheid te ontwikkel in ten minste twee tale, asook Gebaretaal.
