Warren Davidse  Integration Development Lead in the Director:  Institutional Software Solutions environment at Information Technology Warren Davidse has excelled beyond anyone’s expectations, never shies away from a challenge, has a pivotal role in the SUNFin and SUNStudent projects, and, with a joke and a smile, assists anyone who asks.  Warren started his career at the IT Help Desk in December 2003 and received many commendations for his friendly and helpful nature.   As a graduate in Computer Science, he pursued his real passion in 2007 by joining our development where he supported the legacy Student Information System (i.e. “TeraTerm”, “Black Screen”).  However, he constantly sought new challenges and grabbed the opportunity to step into the Integration space in 2016. He was appointed as a Senior Developer on the team.   Through his commitment to life-long learning and willingness to coach others, he continued to take on more responsibilities when major institutional projects like SUNFin and SUNStudent needed knowledgeable support. Warren stepped in as Technical Lead for the integration delivery on both projects to provide leadership and stability under tremendous pressure.  Warren does not consider “the computer says ‘no’” a valid answer. With key individuals retiring and significant projects happening simultaneously, he again put his hand up to assist with the transition period in an acting Team Lead position.  This willingness to serve, amongst many contributions, was acknowledged when he was promoted to Integration Team Lead in 2024.   Many colleagues in IT rely on his knowledge of specialist technical processes and his ability to troubleshoot technical problems.  He is a respected team leader who ensures that the team gets the work done and strives for a welcoming culture where team members are acknowledged as individuals and where the workplace forms part of the holistic personal picture. Warren is a tremendous asset to Stellenbosch University and continually contributes to our mission of Moving Forward Together.  ​​
