Die Botaniese Tuin is geleë in die historiese kern van Stellenbosch en is die oudste universiteits botaniese tuin in Suid-Afrika. Hierdie kompakte Tuin huisves 'n enorme verskeidenheid van plante, beide inheems tot Suid-Afrika en uitheems. Die Katjiepiering Restaurant bied 'n perfekte plek om te rus en die tuin te geniet, terwyl die winkel 'n wye verskeidenheid plaaslike en streekprodukte bied. - Annual entry cards available at discounted rates
- Free entry for Stellenbosch University students and staff upon presentation of a valid student or staff card.
- Larger groups are welcome with prior-arrangement.
- Children only under supervision
- No photo shoots without prior-arrangement, professional shoots are are subject to a fee.
Directions
To reach the Stellenbosch University Botanical Garden from the Eastern Cape, take the R63 west through the Karoo to join the N1 at Beaufort West. Continue south on the N1 for several hundred kilometers before taking the R44 exit toward Stellenbosch. Follow the R44 into the town center, then turn left onto Merriman Avenue and right onto Neethling Street, where you’ll find the garden entrance.
Parking:
The Botanical Garden does not have a dedicated visitor parking area, a municipal parking area is located adjacent to the Garden in Van Riebeeck Street and street parking is also available surrounding the Garden.
Please DO NOT:
- Touch any plants in pots, pick plants, or move plant labels.
- Smoke, vape, or consume alcohol in the garden.
- Catch or touch any wildlife in the garden.
- Cycle, skate, play ball games, or play frisbee.
- Walk in the flower beds.
- Bring balloons or similar items into the garden.
- Set up chairs, tables, or gazebos anywhere in the garden.
- Bring dogs or other pets into the garden (except service animals).
Please DO:
- Take time to look, listen, and enjoy the natural surroundings.
- Enjoy a picnic on the designated Picnic Lawn.
- Take photographs of our beautiful garden. Please note that commercial or group photography requires a permit.
- Read and follow the garden signage.
- Dispose of litter in the provided bins.
- Supervise children at all times.
- Ask questions—our staff are always happy to assist.
- Treat our staff with respect.
