In recent years, the annual SUBG Botanical Art and Photography exhibition has contributed to SUBG’s work by magnifying rare and threatened plants and making their scientific work more accessible through art.

The Stellenbosch University Botanical Garden (SUBG) Gift Shop, situated inside the Botanical Garden itself, has taken a step into the digital space with the launch of its new e-commerce store. Stellenbosch University’s (SU) Innovation and Commercialisation Division, also known as Innovus, is pleased to announce two new team members who joined in October 2025. Saberi Marais has come on board as a Technology Transfer Specialist for the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and Mihlali Gotyana as a Communications Specialist for the Division.

On 18 September, 2025, the Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation (CERI), the LaunchLab, Stellenbosch Network and Innovus Technology Transfer Office at Stellenbosch University welcomed a vibrant gathering of innovators at the inaugural Cape HealthTech Connect event at BMRI, Tygerberg campus.
