Dr Nasreen Peer is a senior lecturer at Stellenbosch University currently focusing on the biodiversity, ecology and taxonomy of southern African mangrove ecosystems. Specifically, her research considers the diversity and ecology of aquatic invertebrates with a focus on mangrove and kelp ecosystems. She is also interested in exploring the role of local communities in conservation with a strong emphasis on traditional ecological knowledge.
