About

I am a lecturer in the Applied Mathematics Division at Stellenbosch University. I obtained my PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2022 from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and joined Stellenbosch University in January 2025. I was the proud recipient of an Oppenheimer Memorial Trust fellowship and the S2A3 medal for her research efforts in mathematical relativity. I am passionate about teaching, research, and sharing her love for mathematics.

Research

My research falls under the broad categories of gravity and modified gravity theories as well as relativistic and cosmological models which are all under the large umbrella of astrophysics. It covers a wide area of subfields including differential field equations, general relativity (GR), black hole geometry, relativistic thermodynamics, spacetime decomposition, modified gravity theories and stellar structure.

Teaching

  • MATH134: Quantitative Methods (UKZN)
  • MATH356: Methods of Applied Mathematics (UKZN)
  • MATH718: General Relativity (Honours: Tensor fields, products and Einstein field equations) (UKZN)
  • AMB124: Statics (Equilibrium & Moments of Inertia)(SU)
