​Studies in Transformation and Historical Trauma in the Faculty of Arts and Social Science will be hosting the first of a series of monthly lectures. The inaugural lecture is by Albie Sachs and is titled: "Playing with Fire: The meaning of Art in Troubled  Times."

The event will be chaired by Prof Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela, who recently joined SU as the research chair in Transformation and Social Change.

Prof Gobodo-Madikizela is also the SARChI Chair for Historical Trauma and Memory. This series will be held monthly throughout 2016.
