​The SU choir walked away as champions of the Varsity Sing competition's debut season, on Thursday Night (13 October).  They received the top prize of R70 000, in additional to R50 000 for scooping up the 'FNB Fan Favourite' award.

Songs performed on the night included 'The Conversion of Saul', composed by Randall Stroope, 'Ava Maria' and 'Toe Vind Ek Jou'.

UJ won second place, Tuks third, whilst NMMU came fourth.
