Social Programme

The Stellenbosch University Summer School offers a vibrant evening and social programme that complements the academic experience. Students can look forward to a variety of activities, including film screenings, traditional South African braais (barbecues), karaoke nights, “sokkie” dances, dinner parties, and more.

Beyond the classroom, the social programme includes day and weekend excursions to sites of historical and cultural significance. Visits to Robben Island, Table Mountain, Cape Point, and a weekend away are included in the programme fee. (For the General Programme, trips may vary depending on the elective chosen.)

Students seeking to explore even further can join the optional Garden Route Tour at the end of the Summer School — a memorable way to experience more of South Africa’s natural beauty and culture.
