Graduation documentation
- Each student who is awarded a qualification (degree, diploma or certificate) at a graduation ceremony will receive a sheath with a printed copy of their degrees, diplomas or certificates, and their academic transcripts/records at their graduation ceremony, if they do not have any outstanding fees.
- Students with outstanding fees are welcome to attend their graduation ceremonies, but will not receive their official graduation documents at the event. Refer to the section on Outstanding fees for more information.
- Students who are unable to attend their March graduation ceremonies may arrange to graduate in absentia before 12:00 on Friday, 6 March 2026 and request that their graduation documents be delivered by Stellenbosch University’s courier service. Alternatively, they can collect their documents from the Records Office on the Stellenbosch campus. Refer to the section on Graduating in absentia for detailed information.
- In instances where graduands cannot wait for their official graduation documents and urgently need proof of completion of their qualification, they may request a declaration of confirmation via email: [email protected]. Please include your SU student number and your identity number, and specify whether you would like the declaration in English or Afrikaans.
