As an ecumenical faculty, we bring together students and scholars from diverse church traditions and contexts to reflect on faith, justice and transformation in today’s world.

Welcome to the Faculty of Theology at Stellenbosch University. We are a close-knit academic community committed to justice, transformation and excellence. Through teaching, research and engagement with faith communities, we seek to form leaders who contribute to healing, reconciliation and the flourishing of life.

Our Mission and Values

The Faculty of Theology is the smallest faculty at Stellenbosch University, creating a close and collaborative academic environment. Students and staff work together in an atmosphere of intellectual curiosity, critical reflection and community engagement. The faculty offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contributes actively to research, public debate and faith communities in South Africa and beyond.
