Programme structure
This research programme involves the completion of independent research and the writing up of the results into a thesis. The programme can be undertaken on either a full-time or part-time basis. The candidate does not have to reside in Stellenbosch, but regular contact and consultations (including online) with the supervisor is essential.
Admission requirements
- A Hons degree in Political Science or International Relations;
- An average final mark of 65% is a minimum requirement;
- Applicants need to have obtained at least a 65% for the Hons or 4th year research assignment or mini-thesis; and
- Admission is subject to the availability of a suitable supervisor for the proposed topic.
Thesis
The thesis topic is selected in consultation with a possible supervisor and should ideally be related to the research interests of members of staff.
All theses are examined by an internal and external examiner.
