Political Science

The Department of Political Science at Stellenbosch University is known for its research-driven approach to understanding political and social challenges in South Africa, Africa, and the broader world. Our work spans global governance, public policy, and conflict studies, providing critical insights into globalisation, inequality, and political behaviour.

Our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including BA (International Studies), PPE (philosophy, politics and economics), and Social Dynamics, equip students with the analytical skills and practical expertise needed for diplomacy, political analysis, and public service careers. By encouraging critical thinking and meaningful engagement, we prepare future leaders to navigate complex political landscapes and contribute to a more just and equitable society.
