Venues
The Stellenbosch University Music Department offers a dynamic range of facilities that support both academic excellence and artistic practice. Housed within the Konservatorium, these spaces include world-class recording studios, technologically equipped lecture venues, specialised practice rooms, and performance halls designed to nurture creativity, collaboration and professional development. Together, these facilities provide an inspiring environment where teaching, research and performance come together — with dedicated venues available for concerts, lectures, and events.
DOMUS
The Documentation Centre for Music (DOMUS) forms part of the Special Collections Division of the Music Library, within the Library and Information Service, and is located in the Music Department.
Domus was established in 2005 as a research project at the University of Stellenbosch. DOMUS was created in order to promote music in South Africa and Africa by collecting, preserving, ordering and cataloguing music.

Music Library
The music library is situated within the Konservatorium building.
Besides the large collections of sheet music, sound recordings and books, the library owns a rare and unique collection of music manuscripts and artifacts, some dating from the sixteenth century.
Recording Studio
The Konservatorium building hosts state-of-the-art recording studios, equipped with the latest technology in this field. The studios are capable of professional recording, editing, mixing and film audio work.
