Stellenbosch University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences has a reputation for excellent research built over decades of meticulous diligence. Years of sustained work in biomedical research have placed our faculty and its Biomedical Research Institute (BMRI) on the world stage in 2022 with the visit of the President of South Africa and the Director-General of the World Health Organization. The BMRI houses several research groups and centres that pursue scientific breakthroughs which will impact the lives of millions of people in Africa and globally. Our researchers receive recognition from world leaders in human health.
