
Dean of Military Science receives African Award
Prof Sam Tshehla, Dean of the Faculty of Military Science at Stellenbosch University (SU), was honoured with the Africa Education Leadership Award as Best Professor in Military Science in Mauritius on Tuesday (7 December 2016).
Tshehla received recognition for his sterling leadership and for making a difference to the lives of others and contributing to social change.
According the organisers, the Africa Education Leadership awards are presented to individuals and institutions that have surpassed several levels of excellence and set an example of being a role model and having shown exemplary leadership. These awards also recognise individuals who are building their institutions through leadership, innovation, academic and industry interface and who have a supreme objective of building future leaders.
"This is really an honour for me as a person, I dedicate the award to the Department of Defence, the SU management team, the South African Military Academy management team and the academic staff of the Faculty of Military Science for their continued support," Tshehla said.
The annual Africa Education Leadership Awards were presented by World CSR Day with CMO Asia as its Strategic Partner and Stars of the Industry Group as a research partner.
