- The Event: Dr Sebinasi Dzikiti won the Human Capital Development award at the WRC Knowledge Tree Awards (Sept 2021).
- The Reason: Recognized for mentoring new research leaders and supporting numerous MSc and PhD students in water sciences.
- The Goal: His research aims to improve water conservation and drive new environmental policies.
The Water Research Commission hosted its 5th Knowledge Tree Awards on the 23rd of September 2021 in Sandton Johannesburg.
The category of Human Capital Development in the water and sciences sector was won by Dr Sebinasi Dzikiti who is a senior lecturer in the department of Horticultural Science. This award is presented to projects that have supported the training of a significant number of post graduate students in MSc and PhD degrees and contributed to training and mentoring of new research leaders.
Congratulations to Seb for winning the category. We trust that your research within the Water Research Commission will bring about new policies to only better our understanding how to save and conserve our most precious element, water.
