Security Institute for Governance and Leadership in Africa (SIGLA)

The Security Institute for Governance and Leadership in Africa (SIGLA) develops governance and leadership solutions suited to Africa’s complex security landscape. Effective leadership and structured security governance are fundamental to sustainable development. Our research and initiatives address key landward, maritime and cyber security areas, each vital for long-term stability and economic progress across the continent.

SIGLA is an academic platform where researchers, policymakers and practitioners collaborate on real-world security challenges. We partner with leading organisations to host workshops, conferences, lectures and short courses while conducting research projects on pressing security governance and leadership issues in Africa. Through these efforts, SIGLA contributes to practical solutions that enhance safety, resilience and equitable development.
