Anatomical Pathology

The Division of Anatomical Pathology is housed in the Department of Pathology and is recognised for excellence in diagnostic services, education and research. Over time, we have expanded our expertise in cardiovascular pathology, cytopathology, neuropathology and molecular diagnostics through innovative approaches that directly enhance patient care. Our training programmes are designed to prepare pathologists for the complexities of modern medicine, equipping them with the practical skills and critical insights needed to drive clinical advancements and push the boundaries of medical science.

The Division Anatomical Pathology together with the Stellenbosch University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and National Health and Laboratory Service (NHLS) provides extensive diagnostic service in Anatomical Pathology to patients and doctors, under- and postgraduate training of students and is actively involved in multidisciplinary research.
