Human Nutrition

At Stellenbosch University’s Department of Global Health, our Division of Human Nutrition has led groundbreaking research that has reshaped local health policies and advanced food security initiatives. We have pioneered studies in nutritional epidemiology, mainly focusing on rural communities, which have directly informed targeted interventions and sustainable health programmes.

Our partnerships with local schools and community organisations promote healthy eating habits and our award-winning dietetics training has produced professionals who are recognised for their excellence in practice. Beyond our research milestones, we have developed a state-of-the-art nutrition laboratory and an innovative curriculum that seamlessly blends cutting-edge research with practical, hands-on learning.
