Science Café: How do cells build and maintain our bodies?

Media & Communication, Faculty of Science
23 February 2016

For this Science Café Stellenbosch on Wednesday 9 March 2016 Prof. Jannie Hofmeyr will take you into the fascinating world of cells and how they build and maintain our bodies.

Our cells are functioning like automatic self-manufacturing factories. When we understand how these processes take place, it may provide us with answers to the origin of life and death.

Prof. Hofmeyr is a distinguished professor in biocomplexity and biochemistry at SU.

The conversation will be moderated by well-known environmentalist, Dave Pepler.

Science Café Stellenbosch is an initiative of the Faculty of Science at Stellenbosch University to promote the public discussion of science. Entrance is free of charge and the conversations start at 18:30 at Die Plataan Café behind the Sasol Art Museum.
