Science Café on the evolution of skin colour
What was the skin colour of our ancient forebears when they left Africa to populate the rest of the world more than two million years ago? White, brown, black, yellow?
On Friday 11 March 2016 dr Lester Davids, a molecular cell biologist from the University of Cape Town, will talk tackle the latest theories about the evolution of skin colour and the implications thereof for our physical and mental health. The conversation is part of the discourse at Woordfees 2016 and will be moderated by the environmentalist, Dave Pepler.
Science Café Stellenbosch is an initiative of the Faculty of Science at Stellenbosch University to promote the public discussion of science. Entrance is free of charge and the conversations start at 18:30 at Die Plataan behind the Sasol Art Museum.
