Lord Williams was the Archbishop of Canterbury from 2002 – 2012 and currently holds the position of Master of Magdalene College at Cambridge University. He is acknowledged internationally as an outstanding theological writer, scholar and teacher. He has been involved in many theological, ecumenical and educational commissions. His visit forms part of the Global Network for Public Theology's Consultation on Democracy and Social Justice in Glocal contexts, presented by the Beyers Naudé Centre for Public Theology and the Faculty of Theology.
