Looking to the future

The next chapter

The next chapter is ours to write

We have trained health professionals for seven decades, growing from a small intake into one of the largest health sciences faculties in sub-Saharan Africa. Our student body looks nothing like it did when the doors first opened, with students now coming from every province and beyond. That mix shapes how they learn, how they treat patients, and where they go on to work once they qualify.

If you're weighing up a career in the health sciences, we train in medicine, physiotherapy, dietetics, speech-language pathology and more, and we've been doing it for 70 years.

70 years of impact

The people who will write the next chapter.

The FMHS iThemba Bursary Fund

Access to quality education and student success sit at the heart of our values, vision and mission, and the FMHS iThemba Bursary Fund is one way we put that into practice. Established in 2015, it supports students who have exhausted every other avenue for funding their studies.
