An estimated 12% of women worldwide live with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder affecting women in their reproductive years. The condition can result in low self-esteem and poor self-image. The lack of visibility about PCOS increases stigma around the disorder. In celebration of Women’s Day on August 9, Laura Hartmann and Rizwana Roomaney shine a light on this important issue.
