Dr Schalk van der Merwe teaches various theoretical and practical subjects on undergraduate level. He is currently the post graduate coordinator from Honors to PhD. Apart from specialising in Children’s Theatre, Theatre Studies and Voice and Speech his main research focus is artistic research within the focus of witchcraft and sexual representation in performance.
