We are proud to nominate Jermaine Hendrick for the RC Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to positioning Stellenbosch University at the forefront of GIS (Geographic Information System) technology. Jermaine has played a pivotal role in advancing GIS within Facilities Management, significantly enhancing the University's ability to make informed decisions and maintain accurate, real-time records of all physical assets.
As a key member of the GIS team within the Department Development Planning & Design, Jermaine's work has directly contributed to more efficient infrastructure planning, spatial data management, and operational transparency across campus. His expertise has been instrumental in elevating the quality and functionality of the GIS system, ensuring that it meets both current and future institutional needs.
Notably, Jermaine was part of our GIS team that received the prestigious Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award from Esri at the 2024 Esri User Conference held in San Diego, California. This international recognition was awarded to Stellenbosch University Facilities Management (SUFM) for its innovative use of GIS to address operational challenges and improve decision-making.
Jermaine played a vital role in our team, implementing additional capabilities in the GIS database, which contributed to our team receiving the international special award at the annual Esri User Conference in San Diego, United States.
