The ​Bachelor of Arts Honours in Afrikaans and Dutch consists of a compulsory research assignment and six electives chosen from a variety of modules. You choose six modules in linguistics or literature in order to prepare yourself for a career in teaching Afrikaans, a career requiring advanced knowledge of Afrikaans language studies, or a career requiring advance knowledge of Afrikaans and/or Dutch literature.

Not all modules are necessarily available for selection in all years. This programme is presented in lecture format.

A BA degree with Afrikaans or Afrikaans and Dutch as a major.
An average mark of 60% in the subject needed for entry into the programme
