The Bachelor of Arts Honours in African Languages focuses on the development of a reflective language view of the African languages through
the study of literature and/or linguistics.

Four specialisation fields or streams are offered in the programme:
• Language teaching;
• Communication;
• Literature; and
• Linguistics.

The programme is presented by means of 2 lectures and 1 seminar per week.

A BA degree with an African language as major subject.
An average final mark of 60% in the major subject which leads to postgraduate study.
