THE VALUE (AND RISKS) OF INFORMATION – AND HACK YOURSELF

Have you heard that “information is the new oil, the new gold, or even the new currency”? How valuable is the information that SU collects? And if it is valuable, what risks come with collecting and using it?

This session of one hour takes a practical look at the value of information by starting with ourselves:

  • How much of our own information is already exposed to bad actors?
  • How do scammers get hold of details like your phone number?
  • What can we do to regain some control over our personal and professional data?

The training includes hands-on examples, tactical steps to safeguard your information, and a demonstration of tools that can help us assess and protect the data we work with every day. By the end of the session, you will be better equipped to identify the value and risks of information – and to take meaningful action to protect it. You will also have the opportunity to “hack” yourself and work through an information impact assessment.
